The Soul of Ola Onabule
Okay, for one moment, let’s ignore the fact that Ola Onabule has been involved in performance and entertainment for over 2 decades, let’s pretend we did not know that he has five albums under his belt, (each one a testament to just how much funk lives in the man) and is set to unleash the sixth and most anticipated yet, let’s even fail to acknowledge the numerous awards, and acolades of recognition the chap has accumulated over the years…let’s just listen to what he can do….
hmmm…yes, Ola’s music can only be described as imaginatively divine and wild with achingly soulful vibes! Whether it’s his Four-octave range voice belting out the ballads, or it’s his insidiously delicious charisma taking over the room, Ola’s live performances are second to none. I would know, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him live a number of times, and each time is twice as nice as the time before. You see, that’s why I’m excited the man is leaving the shores of the UK, for the great big red white and blue, and the New Yorkers get the first taste of his particular brand of magic. His show dates as of yet are few, but expected to multiply in the coming days, so stay informed by visiting his website, and hey! drop by the forum and give a shout out to the man while you’re in his yard!
And before I forget, be sure to check out these two great soul tracks:

Modele was born in Jos, Plateau-Nigeria. Her ealiest musical influences were the rich sounds of ’Sikulu’ from South Africa.
Her style of music is a blend of Jazz and Soul with a touch of Reggae riding on traditional African rhythm. She combines inspirational, motivational songs characterized by a strong sense of personal style and an immense depth of lyrical content, woven together in musical pieces.
In her words, ” When I write songs, I do so with the aim of reaching the soul of the listener, striking a chord in their hearts and bringing buried emotions to the surface, so they can be dealt with”
A graduate of Electrical Engineering from University of Ilorin – Nigeria, Modele has made a conscious effort to protect her passion for music.
She has shared stage/vocal booth with various musicians/artistes (home and abroad) amongst whom is the internationally-acclaimed African Reggae artist, Ben Okafor (UK based) “His music & personality has a great impact on my musical career” Modele says about Ben.
Modele was the main artiste at the CMS tent during 2007 edition of the prestigeous ‘Greenbelt Festival’ in Cheltenham, UK.

Olatunii Oluabenoa Omotayo Olanrewaju Adetokunbo Abdul Majeed Onabule
IS an Incredible Talent! Leaving People asking, after hearing his voice, Who Is This Singing? Quite amazingly he is still little known with-in the continental United States. Yet, in my humble opinion, his Music, Lyrics, & Voice Match, and quite frankly, Exceed Depth, Quality & Heights of ANY
singer in todays musical arena! (“Soul Town” touches my heart) and brings
tears to my eyes. Lord this man exudes SOUL, true soul when he sings.
It is and has been an experience, only to have been furtunate enough to hear you, to see you perform Live…that would be a Blessing from above.
Stay Strong Ola Onabule….Be Well, Go Well & Stay Well!
On the Oldschool end…
DJ Broadway
on CD…to see you perform live…
