ChiiDo - Pidgin Mixtape King
ChiiDo don come again o! Last month the UK-based naija rapper graced us with a pair of music videos. This time around he’s slapping down 50 minutes of goodness on the mixtape album, “Pidgin Mixtape King.” The mixtape presents ChiiDo’s rhymes over some original and some classic hiphop beats. We hear well-known instrumentals from Junior Mafia’s Get Money, Black Rob’s Whoa!, Dre & Snoop’s G-Thang and more.
Definitely some fresh material in here here including tracks we’ve already been introduced to in Pidgin English and Shake Body. Apart from these, my favorites included Africans Dey Everywhere, Owa and Get Money.

Now that’s what i want my naija rappers to sound like. but i think my guy stiil needs to cut off american slanging in his rapping. during the few times he goes phoney his tight rap breaks. another thing is that he doesnt seem to have story telling abilities all great rappers have em, puts suspense in ur flow. put em nice metaphors into ur flow and lord have mercy…keep ur good work up

Chedder, trust me this kind of rappers are unpredictable. When u here there proper albums, they give u a different twist with a lot of funny stories and proper african flavour. Abi, haven’t u seen his pigin english and shake body video. it’s right here on naija jams. As for american slanging, remember that its just a mixtape and it should be done in conjunction with or be as good as the original artists of the songs.

Nigerians are currently making spaculations about who the best pigin rapper is between ChiiDo and 2shortz. Hearing ChiiDo’s mixtapes put him high as i can see he is versitile on other popular beats. I still need to hear his up and coming album in september to make my final conclusion. My best track is africans everywhere because it is true and his lyrics are solid on the beat.

The album has been brilliantly done. Lots of funny stories, lots of club bangers and he even has an afro juju track that reminded me of fela kuti. I really respect ChiiDo’s album [Afro knowledge from naija to london].

Yes, i was at the Nigerian carnival as well. ChiiDo has so much energy on stage. He is way better than any other Nigerian act i’ve see. He was actually the best in the event. I even have a copy of his album which he threw to the crowd.

Here in Newyork, we laugh at modenine and ruggedman because they are doing the same thing we are doing here, plus they are the worst to be found here in newyork. I think u guys should understan dthat this an opinion board and not an avenue to seek personal vendata against one another…If everyone likes ChiiDo and only just a few don’t (in the case of STRANGE) doesnt mean everyone else should persecute the guy….Make una understand say no be everyone go like the samething….and moreover the idea be say when people sombody no like wht you do, rather than persecute or castigate the person outrightly make una allow ChiiDO or him management take on board criticism and use both the negative and possitive criticism to their favour.
I no like how u guys just put STRANGE straight to the gallow for airing his personal opinion. That’s the uniquenes of individuals ….we need criticisms to do more and surpass previous feats…And moreover we can not always appeal to everyone on the music scene no matter how good you are.
Lastly to my guy, ChiiDO (or whoever reads this among hos management team) Know that negative criticism is necessary as with the possitives to bring out the best in you. Be original as you have started already…don’t be influenced into trying to Americanise your style. keep it original.
