Website upgrades/tweaks - new RSS feed url

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be rolling out some new functionality on the website, so please bear with us during this time, as things may not seem exactly as they should.

I also want to alert you that the RSS feed URL has changed to: http://naijajams.com/feed/ - so any of you using rss readers &/or personalized home pages, etc. to stream in naijajams updates, please update your links! (the old one no longer works)

Thanks & stay tuned!

For those starving to hear some new naija jams, we’ll be rolling out plenty of new material in the near future. For now, check out Femi Kuti with Can’t Buy Me off his brilliant live album and DVD “Live at the Shrine.” More on this later!

Happy new year, what’s in store & more!

I just wanted to take the opportunity to extend greetings to everyone in the new year. The holidays have kept us busier than ever, but we’ve used the downtime to plan for the year ahead and work on some upcoming projects. We’ve excited about what we have in store and look forward to sharing it with you.

Stay tuned for more exclusive interviews, field reports, pod-casts, videos and of course choice selections from the world of Nigerian music!

As always, we love to know what our audience thinks, so please take a second to add a comment letting us know what you’d like to see from naijajams or anything related to Nigerian music in the coming year.

Moved servers

The server move was a success! Currently, the DNS is propagating and http://www.naijajams.com should point to the new account within the next 24-48 hours. If you’re reading this message, you’re on the new servers.
Thanks for the patience!

Web Host Woes…

Our site host resellers @ lonex.com guarantee 99.9% uptime and 24/7 customer service… neither of which they’ve been able to provide in the last few months. The site has been down 6 times in the last 2 weeks, often for extended periods.

The good news is that we’ve found new hosts & should be up and running with them by the end of the week. Please bear with us in this transition… there is lots of exciting material coming soon!

Stay tuned.

Gallery of Nigerian Musicians (Updated)

As you’ve probably noticed by the main navigation link, the gallery of Nigerian Musicians/Producers/Artists has been up and running for a few months. We recently went through a round of reorganization, new additions and wanted to take this opportunity to call it out explicity.

You’ll find updates for Fela Kuti, Femi, Lágbájá, 2Face, Ruggedman, Sunny Ade, Majek Fashek, JJC and more…

So if you haven’t checked it lately, there’s lots to see!

Enjoy.

Naijajams, take one

Thanks for checking out naijajams.com - the naija music web log. For now, this site is an experiment of sorts, but we’re very much looking forward to the ride.

We have two simple objectives:

1) Expose Nigerian music, musicians and artists through a location independent medium (i.e. the web/internet)

2) Share music that moves us

Right now we’re ramping up on content & putting the finishing touches on the site, but check back soon for more information!
