Lately, the amount of press Nigeria has been getting, ht looming 2007 Presidential elections in Nigeria have been on my mind. It seems many of the “leaders” are concerned more with platforms that fall along tribal and religious lines than with what the country needs - 1) food, water, education & jobs for the people and 2) providing a solid plan to get Nigeria headed down the right path.

When these thoughts lay heavy on my mind, I always think back to eLDee’s “Me I Go Yarn” (in english: I will or I’m going to talk/say/discuss), where he discusses some of these same issues.

For those of you who may have previously checked out DJ Dee Money’s Naija Gbedu Part 2 and Part 3, here’s the first segment of the three part gbedu mix.

Much like second and third parts, Dee Money’s bringing the hot naija jams on this one - providing heavy doses of new material infused with a bunch of classic gems, all wrapped up, mixed & ready to go for your enjoyment.

Gbedu Part 1 is special though in that it really takes you back with some serious 80s and 90s jams. Tracks like, Seun Rere, Omoge, the original Belinda and more. Dee Money has outdone himself with the selections on this one giving you a solid 80 minutes. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we have.

ChiiDo don come again o! Last month the UK-based naija rapper graced us with a pair of music videos. This time around he’s slapping down 50 minutes of goodness on the mixtape album, “Pidgin Mixtape King.” The mixtape presents ChiiDo’s rhymes over some original and some classic hiphop beats. We hear well-known instrumentals from Junior Mafia’s Get Money, Black Rob’s Whoa!, Dre & Snoop’s G-Thang and more.

Definitely some fresh material in here here including tracks we’ve already been introduced to in Pidgin English and Shake Body. Apart from these, my favorites included Africans Dey Everywhere, Owa and Get Money.

We’re bound to take over, no dey my main road
I go knock you off with range rover
Your game’s over, You still dey do mumu
I go slap sense inside you, papa mugu
I still dey craze, so make you sabi say
when you look my face, you go get cash to pay

Many of you probably heard about the reported scuffle between Eedris Abdulkareem and 50 cent in December 2004. The fight resulted in 50 cutting the tour short prior to the final show in Port Harcourt.

While the issue may seem like little more than a publicity stunt by Eedris, none of us were there and can only rely on reports and commentary. Check out this new video where Eedris gives his take on the situation at a live show in Germany a few weeks ago.

This quote had me rolling:

Fresh off the heels of the popular Naija Gbedu Part 2, Dee Money presents Naija Gbedu Part 3! This mix continues the trend set with Part 2, with continuous infusions of naija classics, both old and new - there’s a little bit of everything in this mix… from Daddy Showkey & Ras Kimono’s reggae to JJC’s hip hop and Lagbaja’s afrobeat.
